Blog post 4

In the class presentations we discovered a lot of different islands and their customs. One cool fact that I learned happened to be one the island of Saba and St. Eustatius and how they only get groceries on Wednesday due to how remote they are.
Title Slide to my presentation
I believe I did pretty well on my presentation because I reviewed my work to make sure I din't read directly off the slides , and made sure that I got my facts and information correct. The main thing that didn't work for other students presentation was that they would read right off the board and not go in depth with their information. Overall learning about all of the islands made the research project fun to do.

Blog Prompt 3

  • In my presentation I discuss the four key components to tourism within the islands. I give a conclusion to my thoughts and viewpoints on the economic issues of tourism and the beauties that the island holds.

Blog Prompt 2

Research Plans
In my research paper I plan to focus on the topic of tourism. Within my discussion on tourism I plan to view four focal points
  1. Environmental Aspects
  2. Geography
  3. History
  4. Demographics

These are the key components that will me explain why so many people are attracted to the Netherlands Antilles. My research question is as follows:
}What is it about the ABC islands that brings many people to visit each year?
•Side Research question: Does an economy based on tourism bring benefit to the islands?
Some Challenges that I have faced is finding consistent information since there has been a lot of different views on how the islands were established.

  •      The first thing I would like to research is the island of Aruba.

Blog Prompt 1

                                         ABC Island
In this project I plan to discover the islands environment and natural attractions. I would like to focus on how the people of the islands survive off the natural resources and what the island has to offer. I have the pleasure in researching the "ABC Islands” that includes Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao. This cluster of islands are three western most islands of the Leeward Antilles.
Each islands has its own identity. Aruba being the most developed has tons of attractions to offer such as golf-courses and shopping malls. The climate tends to be very dry and sunny, which is the perfect weather for beach lovers. Moving towards Bonaire, the islands is filled with national parks. It being surrounded by coral reefs it is protected by marine “national park”. This is the best islands for outdoor tourist. Being the largest of the three islands Curacao has the largest population. This islands has tons to offer with its high developed city structure.
Overall each islands has a little something extra to offer. Each of the islands are like a different worlds all on its own. Bonaire offers more down to earth personalities, Curacao has a busier life style, and Aruba attracts more tourist. Every islands is beautiful and attractive in its own way. They all have lovely natural attractions and some have more rather man made that still is pleasing to many people.
The more research done the closer you get to each islands. Having so much information available, it makes you feel as if you are visiting the island and have become a part of each culture.
